Selected writings
Scharf pioneered the application of causal perturbation theory to the rigorous construction of perturbative quantum field theories:
In his book
- Finite Quantum Electrodynamics – The Causal Approach, Springer 1995
he discusses quantum electrodynamics this way, and in
- Quantum Gauge Theories – A True Ghost Story, Wiley 2001
he discusses Yang-Mills theory, hence electroweak theory and quantum chromodynamics as well as perturbative quantum gravity.
On vacua/ground states of the free Dirac field in a Coulomb background field:
- Martin Klaus, Günter Scharf, The regular external field problem in quantum electrodynamics, Helv. Phys. Acta 50 (1977) doi:10.5169/seals-114890
